Problem:
A large government infrastructure engineering department had a large deep water dam inlet structure that needed the trash racks inspected. The location was deemed too hazardous for conventional divers to inspect.

Challenge:
The deep water inlet location was in a steep rocky ravine that dark murky waters limiting visibility to jess than six inches thereby making remote underwater video a very poor option for inspection.

Sector Scan Solution:
The Northwest Maritime Industrial Sonar Imaging and Research Division was able to deploy Sector Scan Sonar suspended by a proprietary suspension platform in such a manner that high resolution images were obtained completing the inspection in complete safety without risking divers' lives.
